The Who, What, When, Where and Why
The When and Where
Like most other startups, our story started with two friends discussing their work experiences, frustrations, dreams, and aspirations. The only variation was that we were strolling along Lake Washington in Seattle on a lovely, warm summer evening rather than in a Silicon Valley garage.
As we continued to chat, a shared vision began to take shape - the concept of a platform that could bridge the gap between technology and commerce in the natural stone industry.
The Who and Why
The we in this story is me - Umashree, and Sachin.
I have a background in engineering and management and have worked in the natural stone industry for nearly a decade. This industry is a way of life, and I couldn't imagine doing anything else.
During my time in the industry, I had the opportunity to wear multiple hats and experience everything from customer service to sales, operations, marketing, and purchasing. Being a natural organizer, I could see the inefficiencies that crept into processes over time.
The inefficiencies I encountered when purchasing stones, like emailing suppliers for products and sifting through hundreds of emails to find and compare products and prices, was when I knew that something needed to be done to simplify the process and be more efficient with my time and efforts.
On the other hand, Sachin is a tech wizard who jumped at the challenge to improve and automate old and inefficient processes in the industry and make a lasting impact.
With a background in engineering, Sachin has worked in startup and large tech environments for over ten years and has been noted for his innovative thinking and contributions to technology. He also has multiple patents to his name, a testament to his drive and creative thinking.

The How and What
We knew it wouldn't be easy, but together, we embarked on a journey filled with late nights discussing the industry at large, the practices and challenges that come along with businesses steeped in tradition, countless brainstorming sessions on which issues we could solve, what technology we could use, some jazz music, and an unwavering belief that we could make a difference.
Fast forward to 2023, and after one test launch, two complete design revisions, and numerous changes later, we are here with a product that is the first and only one of its kind built for the natural stone industry.
